Client:
UmivaleActiva
Design Team:
2 designers
My Role:
Product Design Lead (Hands-on)
STATUS:
Live and in use
TIMELINE:
3 to 4 months (MVP)
Built to scale into the company's single channel for every external communication it sends.
This platform reaches a wide range of people, on both the receiving end and the operating end.
Who receives information:
End users receivenig benefits or care from the mutual insurance company (B2C)
Company HR departments tracking updates that affect their employees (B2B)
Internal staff, like account managers, following case changes and updates
Who operates the platform:
Benefit and health case managers, who use it integrated into their own management apps to track what's been sent, check its status, and act on it (resend, switch to postal mail, etc.)
The communications team, who manage templates, communication flows, and the conditional logic behind them
I led the first stage: research, identifying the core modules the system needed, and defining the user flows and initial wireframes for each audience. From there, the project moved into high-fidelity design and was refined through user testing.
Designed as a transversal system, it's built to become the company's single channel for every external communication, not just a feature inside one app.

How it came together
Built fast, but not without research.
The brief was clear from the start: a working MVP in 3 to 4 months. That timeline shaped every decision from day one.
I worked closely with architects, analysts, and clients to define the foundations, then ran an initial round of interviews with two key groups: the communications team and the benefit case managers, since they would be the first to actually use the platform day to day.
From there, I identified the core functionalities, defined the system's modules, and mapped out the user flows. The first wireframes came next, built to test and validate those decisions early.
Once that foundation was in place, I worked with the analyst to define the handoff, and the project moved into implementation, iterating in parallel to keep up with the timeline.
